WHO IS TEODORO OBIANG?

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is an African leader and politician. He won the November 2022 presidential re-election in Equatorial Guinea.

Obiang was born in 1942 in Acoacán, a colony of Spanish Guinea. He attended the General Military Academy in Zaragoza in Spain and served Francoist Spain until 1968 and Equatorial Guinea after that as the country was declared independent on October 12, 1968.
